Date:26/11/2020
Time:16:00 - 17:00
Presenter:Ersan Dur
Audiences:Master, PhD, Researchers
Categories:Webinar
Description:

There are more academic articles being published than ever before and more authors working together. To be able to identify an author correctly a unique identifier is needed that can then link to each author’s publications. ORCID provides this link.

ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) is a system that provides a unique digital identifier to distinguish you from other researchers and a record that supports automatic links among all your professional activities. By getting an ORCID, you can mainly ensure that your publications and other research activities are correctly linked to you, improve the discoverability of your research and save time you spent on multiple data entry by pulling information from other sources.

New YÖK Requirements Regarding ORCIDs

Koç University faculty, post doctors, graduate students, and staff should be aware of the new YÖK policy changes that require ORCID ID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) in 2020.

According to an official document by the Turkish Council of Higher Education (YÖK) dated June 8th, 2020 and No. 36054236-299-E.32771, it has been decided that all graduate students registered into programs with thesis must register for and use Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID) for the monitoring and follow-up of any kind of scientific publications along with graduate theses, articles, proceedings of congresses and symposiums and books.

For questions or assistance with ORCID ID feel free to sign-up by the event.
